Today, Europol's European Cybercrime Centre (EC3) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Group-IB, an Internet security provider, in order to initiate cooperation in fighting cybercrime. The MoU allows for the exchange of strategic information, expertise, trends and statistical data, and the cooperation will focus on fraud prevention and combating various forms of cybercrime.
Wil van Gemert, Deputy Director Operations at Europol says: "Cybercrime is an ever growing threat, and we have to stand together in combating these crimes. Europol is working closely with the EU's national authorities, private industry and other partners, and the initiated cooperation with Group-IB is an addition to the shared responsibility of keeping citizens safe online"
