Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for our internships, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Nationality: You must be a national of a Member State of the European Union.
  • Age: You must have reached the age of majority in your country of origin.
  • Education: You must have a level of education equivalent to completed university studies or vocational training relevant to Europol's tasks. Only diplomas issued by EU Member State authorities or recognised as equivalent by relevant EU bodies are accepted.
  • Language skills: You must possess a very good knowledge of English and a satisfactory knowledge of another official language of the European Union.
  • Previous experience: You must not have already benefited from internships or employment exceeding six weeks' duration within any European institution, agency, or body, including Europol. 

Application process 

To apply online, follow the instructions below:

1. Check available internships:

  • Visit our internships page for current opportunities and detailed descriptions of each role. Ensure you comply with the eligibility criteria indicated in the notice.

2. Access the online application form:

  • Click "Apply" under the title of the post to access our online application form.

3. Complete the application form:

  • Fill in all required fields (marked with a red asterisk) in the application form. You may insert data from your CV by clicking on the relevant option at the top of the application form.
  • To reuse a previous application, click on the relevant option provided at the top of the application form. Enter the email address used for your previous application to receive an access code. Use this to populate the form with details submitted in the previous application.

4. Save and finish later:

  • You have the option to save entered information and finish your application later. Click on “Save progress” and enter your email address to receive a link, which will be valid until the application deadline. To access your saved application, click on the link and a one-time access code will be emailed to you. Use this code within 5 minutes to retrieve the form with your saved information.

5. Submit your application:

  • Ensure all the information provided is correct and that your application is duly completed. CVs uploaded as attachments will not be considered.
  • Submit your application by 23:59 CET on the closing date indicated in the vacancy notice. Applications cannot be submitted after the deadline.

After successful submission of an application, the system will automatically generate an email acknowledgment of receipt within 6 hours. Ensure that the email address provided on the application is correct, as most correspondence will be by email. If no acknowledgment of receipt is received within 6 hours (check your junk/spam folder), please contact us for further assistance.

You may withdraw your submitted application by sending an email to C2-134@europol.europa.eu.

Selection process

Our selection process is designed to identify candidates who can effectively contribute to our mission of making Europe safer. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to a remote interview with a selection committee. In exceptional cases, they may undergo written and/or practical tests. The selection criteria are laid out in the internship project announcement. All candidates are informed about the status of their application via email.
