Visit from the Minister of Interior of Montenegro

Europol Deputy Director Martinu today hosted a visit from Mr Raško Konjević, Minister of Interior of Montenegro.

Montenegro has had a strategic cooperation agreement with Europol since September 2008 and, in October this year, the Europol Management Board authorised the Director to enter into negotiations with Montenegro for the conclusion of an operational cooperation agreement.

Today's meeting, requested by the Minister, heard discussions on current fruitful cooperation with Europol and potential future crime-fighting activities, as well as the next step towards concluding an operational cooperation agreement.

The delegation was accompanied by Montenegrin media organisations, who will report on the visit.
