The Moldovan Minister of Internal Affairs, Dorin Recean, and the Director of Europol, Rob Wainwright, today signed an Agreement on Operational and Strategic Cooperation. Representatives of the Moldovan competent authorities, the Information and Security Service, the National Anti-Corruption Center, the General Prosecutor's Office and the Customs Service were present at the event.
After the meeting the Minister of Internal Affairs and the Director of Europol held a press conference reaffirming the priority objective of Moldova to make use of the specialists and analysts at Europol and their expertise in threat assessments, situational analysis, fighting cybercrime, counterfeiting and smuggling of tobacco products, currency counterfeiting, trafficking in human beings, drugs, etc.
