In response to the series of terrorist attacks in Paris on 13 November, Europol has offered its full assistance to French authorities and is currently providing active support to the ongoing investigations.
Europol's operational centre at its headquarters in The Hague continues to be manned 24/7 by experts in counter-terrorism, firearms and other specialist areas since the attacks happened. Europol officers with mobile offices have also been deployed to the field, giving direct, secure and real-time access to Europol's centralised intelligence databases and analysis tools.
"Europol condemns in the strongest terms the wave of terror attacks across Paris and extends its condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims. Europol has offered its full assistance to French authorities which includes making available Europol's unique intelligence tools and databases dedicated to combating various terrorist threats. This incident is a further reminder of the volatile terrorist threat faced in Europe today. Working with its security partners, Europol will redouble its efforts to help protect the EU, its citizens and common values," said Europol Director, Rob Wainwright.
Due to the sensitivity of the situation, and in order not to jeopardise current investigations, Europol is unable to provide statements on the details of the work it is undertaking with regards to the Paris terror attacks.
