At a ceremony in Münich, Germany Wednesday 18 April Europol received an award for the best 2012 initiative in the category ‘Best Access Governance and Intelligence Project’, for its Strategic IAM project.
Mr. Salah Bohoudi received the award on behalf of Europol and his colleagues from the IAM (Identity and Access Management) project team. Mr Bohoudi works in the enterprise architecture team, having the technical lead on the project since its inception.
The European Identity Award honours outstanding projects and initiatives in Identity Management. The award was presented by the analyst group KuppingerCole at their annual event, the European Identity Conference. The winners were chosen from a shortlist of exemplary projects and initiatives compiled by the analysts at KuppingerCole during the last 12 months. The winners have all distinguished themselves through exceptional efforts in Identity and Access Management (IAM), Governance, Risk Management and Compliance (GRC), and Cloud Security.
The Europol IAM initiative started back in 2007 with the analysis of requirements and strategic planning, involving all key internal and external stakeholders. Based on the results of that analysis and the strategic drivers identified, the implementation started with a phased approach consisting of eight releases until now, reaching its current award-worthy level of maturity during the last 12 months.
