Last week, from 14-16 October, 150 Moldovan law enforcement officers took part in intensive awareness seminars (Europol Roadshow) in the Chisinau, Soroca and Orhei regions of Moldova. The participants came from all over the country to the different regions and represented police, border police, customs, the National Anti-Corruption Centre, and the Information and Security Service.
As well as general introductions to Europol and the services offered, the main themes presented were intelligence-led policing, Eastern European organised crime and euro counterfeiting. Europol was represented by the Moldovan Liaison Officer, two crime specialists and one communications specialist. A special session was also held for 15 Moldovan law enforcement communicators.
Mr Dorin Recean, Minister of Internal Affairs of Moldova and Mr Ion Bodrug, Moldovan Chief of Police expressed their thanks for the very valuable awareness seminars, and restated their commitment to their fight against organised crime in the EU.
