Europol is pleased to announce its 2015 law enforcement photos of the year, chosen from hundreds of entries received during this year's international law enforcement photo competition.
Talented law enforcement photographers from across Europe and beyond participated in the competition and provided fascinating insights into the work of police, customs officials, border guards, dog handlers, SWAT teams and more.
This year, first prize has been awarded to Javier Montero, a photographer with Spain's Guardia Civil in Madrid, who image captures his dog-handling colleague with a newly-recruited 'K9' police puppy.
Christophe Groben, Inspector with the Police Grand-Ducale of Luxembourg, clinches second prize with his dramatically-charged shot of Luxembourg's Compagnie d'Intervention Rapide in riot training.
Third prize goes to Spain's José Córdoba – also a photographer with Guardia Civil – with his image of an officer at a rainy medal parade in Madrid.
The top three prizewinners win a trip for two to the Netherlands, including a visit to Europol. Their images will also feature in Europol's 2016 corporate calendars.
