Europol's European Cybercrime Centre (EC3) has signed a Memorandum Of Understanding with S21sec, allowing for cooperation in the joint fight against cybercrime. The two organisations will start to exchange knowledge and expertise on cybercrime, and will cooperate to combat online fraud and make the Internet a safer space.
Wil van Gemert, Deputy Director Operations at Europol said: "Cybercrime poses a growing threat, and online fraud is an increasing problem on a global scale. Law enforcement and private industry need to work together to combat online crime, and the MoU with S21sec is just the start of our strategic cooperation to target the criminals behind these crimes."
"We are proud to work with such an important organisation as Europol, especially the European Cybercrime Centre," said José Aleman, Law Enforcement and Defence Line of Business Manager. "With this agreement, at S21sec we reassert our commitment to cyber security, sharing all of our knowledge and technology solutions with Europol in an effort to work together against cyber fraud – particularly in the area of malware, where S21sec is a leader, especially in the banking sector."
