On 9 & 10 October Europol held its annual conference for law enforcement communicators at its headquarters in The Hague, co-organised with the Belgian Federal Police. This year's conference gathered (for the 11th time) spokespersons, public relations specialists and other communications specialists from law enforcement authorities in the EU and beyond. The event brought together 45 participants from 17 different countries, which created an excellent networking platform for sharing knowledge and experience in their areas of expertise (communications and media relations). This year, the seminar also welcomed a visit from Catherine de Bolle, the General Commissioner of the Belgian Federal Police.
The event included presentations and workshops that gave participants the opportunity to discuss current trends in the law enforcement area, with a special emphasis on corporate branding. A presentation on branding by Ms. Gabriele Jacobs from Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, opened the conference and was followed by a series of presentations from representatives from all over the world, including the US and Canada.
