Europol 2024 law enforcement photo competition
Charge your camera batteries, grab your favourite lens and don’t forget your SD-card – it’s time to take some shots worthy of the Capture24 photo competition! Enter your best images to win a trip for two to Europol in The Hague!
Capture24 is this year’s edition of Europol’s photo competition, which has brought to light impressive images since its inception. Europol is celebrating the hard work and dedication of law enforcement across the European Union and abroad, and we are seeking photography submissions that illustrate the many ways that police forces protect citizens on a daily basis.
This year, Europol’s photo competition is open to more entrants than ever before. As well as participants from law enforcement agencies in the EU Member States, we now also invite officers from all countries with agreements and working arrangements with Europol to participate!
Diversity, innovation and cross-border collaboration
The 2024 edition of the Europol photo competition will have three themed categories:
Diversity:
Capture the essence of diversity within law enforcement. This category seeks to celebrate the variety of cultures, backgrounds, and perspectives present in law enforcement agencies worldwide. Submissions could include portraits showcasing the diversity of officers, images that depict interactions with diverse communities, or photos of any setting that highlights the importance of inclusivity and representation within the law enforcement profession. Whether through candid moments or carefully composed shots, we want to see how diversity strengthens the bonds between officers and the communities they serve.
Innovation:
Explore the innovative spirit of law enforcement through your lens. This category will showcase cutting-edge technologies, creative strategies, and forward-thinking approaches used in law enforcement practices. Can you depict the inventive ways in which law enforcement agencies adapt to meet the evolving challenges of the modern world? Show us breakthroughs in crime prevention and novel approaches to community engagement, or the use of new technologies such as drones and augmented reality, which are shaping the future of policing.
Cross-border collaboration:
Highlight the power of collaboration across borders in law enforcement. This category will portray the partnerships, joint operations, and shared efforts between law enforcement agencies across different regions and countries. From joint operations to international training initiatives, capture moments that exemplify the strength and effectiveness of cross-border cooperation in tackling crime and enhancing security. For example, that could be a shared mission to combat human trafficking, the fight against environmental crime or a collaborative effort to disrupt cybercrime. Submissions in this category should show how law enforcement agencies working together across boundaries to uphold justice and protect communities within and outside the European Union.
Law enforcement officers are invited to submit up to FIVE photos. Whether you are a professional police photographer or a passionate amateur, we want to see your photography skills in action! So get out there, capture the best moments of law enforcement in action, and show us why they deserve our respect and gratitude.
Deadline for submissions: 15 August 2024
