More than 100 participants from 20 different countries attended the fourth annual Europol Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) conference held on 27-28 October 2016 at Europol’s headquarters in The Hague.
Open source specialists from EU and US law enforcement delivered keynote speeches and guest lectures on a variety of topics from digital criminalistics and forensics, terrorism and radicalisation propaganda online, to drugs on social network platforms and open source monitoring of human trafficking.
On the second day of the conference, speakers from private sector and academia explored the latest trends and technological developments in the areas of OSINT and Social Media Intelligence (SOCMINT) and their potential impact on the work of law enforcement authorities in the future.
Through this event, Europol reinforced its commitment to cooperate closely with OSINT practitioners in the EU Member States and third partner countries and organisations.
