EC3 seizes the opportunity to congratulate and welcome these new members of the Advisory Group and to thank all who expressed an interest.

For the other two groups a decision on the composition of the groups is still pending. For the Advisory Group on Internet Security this is due to the fact that way too many highly qualified candidates applied. However, for the Advisory Group on Telecom and Internet Service Providers, this is because actually too few candidates applied. We will seek to come to a decision as soon as possible in consultation with partners concerned and apologise for the inconvenience of the prolonged duration of the decision process.

In 2013 the Programme Board of Europol's European Cybercrime Centre (EC3) identified the need for establishing Advisory Groups to provide guidance to EC3. In 2013, Advisory Groups were established in the areas of Financial Services andInternet Security. The members were recruited from experts operating in these respective sectors. A number of seats are available in both groups due to the termination of the appointment of some members and an expansion of the number of members to 25.

In 2015, it was decided to establish a third group, focussed on cooperation between law enforcement and Communication Providers, aiming to gather representatives of Internet Service Providers and Telecom Services (including Mobile Operators).

This announcement serves to invite professionals from these three sectors to express their interest in joining the group that focusses on their respective area of expertise by submitting a motivation letter accompanied by a curriculum vitae.

This call for applications for the Advisory Groups for the three referred areas has been opened today, 22 December 2015. To be considered, applications must be sent in by Friday 22 January 2016, either by e-mail to: O3@europol.europa.eu or by post to:

Europol
European Cybercrime Centre
P.O. Box 908 50
2509 LW - The Hague
The Netherlands

The applications will be reviewed by the Programme Board to identify suitable candidates for the Advisory Groups on the basis of competence, integrity, significant experience in the field and capacity to make a valuable contribution. The selected candidates will be appointed in a personal capacity. Information on the results of the call for applications will be published on EC3 SPACE and on the Europol website under EC3.

More detailed information on the groups can be found in the Terms of Reference attached below. For any further information please contact the Programme Board Secretariat by e-mail: O3@europol.europa.eu. Thank you for your interest!
