Criminal networks have a huge demand for encrypted communication platforms to facilitate their criminal activities. In July 2020, the EncroChat encrypted platform was dismantled by the Operational Taskforce EMMA (France, the Netherlands with the support of Europol). This international operation sent shockwaves in the criminal underworld across Europe.
